“Yellow is a super hard color to pull off in photos,” celebrity and TV stylist Jeni Elizabeth exclusively tell us.

Hm. Now, you’re probably thinking “Wait, wait, wait–I thought Gen-Z yellow was the new millennial pink.” And you’d be right. The color is definitely popping up on more feeds than ever before–and that’s because it truly *is* a happy color–it’s just a complicated one.

“Yellow is a happy, fun color and it can add so much to a picture,” Jeni Elizabeth explains. The risks just far outweigh the rewards. “It can also take away from the picture. It has the ability to make someone look ill just as quickly as it can make someone look amazing!” (See Zendaya for the latter).

So, there you have it–before you jump on the yellow bandwagon take a good long look in the mirror: is this YOUR color, or are you just trying to steal somebody else’s sunshine?
